A message from the chair of the PSAIs a Parent Staff Association important for children you may wonder.
We all know the quote, “It takes a village to raise a child,” and school is the part of that village that fosters learning and educational growth in our children. It's a monumental, crucial task. One that I think we can all agree on, can never get enough support. That’s where the Parent Staff Association steps in. Each year the PSA of Harold’s Cross ETNS aids our school through organizing events for children, parents and staff, building community, and fundraising towards school wide goals. We work in partnership with our school, always keeping in mind the equality-based ethos of Educate Together, so that together we provide the best education possible for our children. “Inherent in the concept of the village is the notion that caring for children is a shared responsibility amongst many.” — Darryl Mayberry I’m personally so happy to be a part of the PSA committee, and to collaborate so closely with Ruth, our principal, the Board of Management, all the other wonderful teachers and staff, the dedicated parents and guardians, and of course the children of our school. The diversity of voices involved is our greatest strength as we grow each year. Establishing the foundation of our developing school community and the school’s place in the wider community takes work and persistence. Our Parent Staff Association is there to lessen that burden on our educators so they can focus on teaching our children. The PSA is committed to being active in the educational lives of our children. We build brick by brick the support system needed to give every child at our school the opportunity to achieve their full potential. It's hard work and one we signed on for because that’s what every child deserves. Danielle Veon PSA Committee Chairperson Harold’s Cross Educate Together NS Connect with us! [email protected] |
